Facilities
In addition to extensive playing fields, Oundle has two sports centres catering for indoor sports, one of which is also open to the public on a carefully programmed basis. Together they offer a brand new, superbly-equipped 70 station fitness suite as well as a performance gym, a rehabilitation studio and a climbing wall.
There are five squash courts, four Rugby fives courts, four floodlit Astroturf pitches, three indoor and six designated outdoor netball courts along with fourteen additional outdoor courts, dual use with tennis during the summer, a Tartan athletics track and a 50m swimming pool with a moveable floor and submersible boom.

Getting to Oundle School Sports Centre (PE8 4AG Sat Nav)
By Train from London via Peterborough
1. Travel from London to Peterborough by train
• Depart from London King’s Cross.
• Take a direct LNER or Great Northern service to Peterborough.
• Typical journey time: ≈45 minutes.
• Trains run frequently throughout the day.
2. From Peterborough Station to Oundle
You have two options:
Option A: Bus (cheapest)
• Walk to Queensgate Bus Station in Peterborough (≈10–15 minutes from the rail station).
• Take the X4 bus toward Northampton.
• Get off at Oundle, Old Town Hall.
• Total bus time: ≈1 hour 50 minutes.
Option B: Taxi (fastest)
• Taxis are available outside Peterborough Station.
• Journey time: ≈20–25 minutes.
• Cost varies but is typically reasonable for the distance.
3. Walk to Oundle School
• From Oundle town centre, the school buildings are spread throughout the town.
• The Sports Centre is on the East of the town approximately 15 minute walk from the Old Town Hall bus stop.

By Road from the North/South
🧭FROM THE NORTH (via A1 Southbound)
1. Join the A1 southbound
Travel south on the A1 toward Peterborough / Stamford.
2. Exit toward Oundle
• Take the exit for A605 signposted Oundle / Northampton (this is just south of Peterborough).
• Join the A605 westbound.
3. Follow the A605 to Oundle
• Continue on the A605 for around 8 miles.
• At the roundabout outside Oundle, take the exit into the town.
4. Enter Oundle
• Follow signs for Town Centre / Oundle School.
• Continue along Glapthorn Road or North Street depending on signage.
5. Arrive at the Sports Centre
• Follow signs to Oundle School Sports Centre on Milton Road.
• The entrance is clearly marked and has on site parking.
🧭 FROM THE SOUTH (via A1 Northbound)
1. Join the A1 northbound
Travel north toward Peterborough / Stamford.
2. Exit toward Oundle
• Take the exit for A605 signposted Oundle / Northampton.
• Join the A605 westbound.
3. Follow the A605 to Oundle
• Stay on the A605 for roughly 8 miles.
• At the Oundle roundabout, take the exit into the town.
4. Enter Oundle
• Follow signs for Town Centre / Oundle School.
• Continue through the town until you reach Milton Road.
5. Arrive at the Sports Centre
• The Sports Centre is on Milton Road, well signposted.
• Parking is available on site.

• Oundle’s roads are narrow in places, so expect slower speeds through the town.
• The Sports Centre is on the east side of Oundle, close to the main school campus.
By Road from Birmingham
Leave Birmingham
• Join the M6 Southbound (or the M6 Toll if you prefer).
• Continue until the junction for the M42.
2. Join the M42
• Take the M42 Eastbound toward M40 / London / Coventry.
• Stay on the M42 until you reach the junction for the M6 South / A14.
3. Join the A14 Eastbound
• Follow signs for A14 East toward Kettering / Huntingdon.
• Stay on the A14 for a good stretch; it’s the main cross country route.
4. Exit for the A605 (Oundle / Peterborough)
• As you approach Thrapston, take the exit for the A605.
• Follow signs for Oundle / Peterborough.
5. Follow the A605 to Oundle
• Continue on the A605 for around 7–8 miles.
• At the roundabout on the edge of Oundle, take the exit into the town.
6. Drive into Oundle
• Follow signs for Town Centre and then Oundle School.
• Continue through the town until you reach Milton Road on the eastern side.
7. Arrive at Oundle School Sports Centre
• The Sports Centre is located on Milton Road.
• The entrance is clearly marked, and there is on site parking.
